Fashion show

Every year our Stone Harbor location holds a fashion show at the local yacht club. The shows really help to bring in new customers and also it gives us a chance to promote our new merchandise. The first thing we needed to do to prep for the show was find models. The yacht club likes for us to use  their members as the models. We decided to make it a mother and daughter theme because last year there were comments that our merchandise was focused on young people while he majority of the attendees were older women. We ended up choosing 10 models, 5 mothers and 5 daughters. After they agreed to do the show, we then had to coordinate a time for them to come in and try on outfits so we could style them for the show. The first dilemma was scheduling a time for everyone to come in since everyone has different availability. The worst by far though was trying to come to an agreement on what outfits the models would wear. Of course we as the retailer know what we need to display and promote but often the models did not agree. Finally, we were able to come to an agreement on 3 outfits for each model. The first outfit was a casual one mostly jeans and silk tops and tanks. The second outfit was mostly dresses and more fancy options. The third and finale outfits were a mixture of evening wear options but every outfit had our signature fur. Some had our fur scares, other fur vests and fur parkas. It sounds funny but the furs really made a statement and looked awesome on the runway. My job was to organize all of the outfits by model and label them and put them in garment bags so that there was no confusion when it was time for the models to be dressed. Luckily, the way I organized and labeled everything made the whole experience run smoothly. It ended up being the most successful show we've ever had with our pop up shop selling over $5,000 of merchandise after the show! It was very stressful to set up and prepare for the show but it was certainly worth it!
