Uniqlo’s Retail Management Structure-
So at Uniqlo we have a somewhat unique structure. At the Philadelphia flagship store there are dozens of associates and about 9-10 supervisors, two assistant managers and two managers that are in-house. Further up the management chain are folks that might come to visit and check on things, especially because our flagship is the highest performing nationwide and just about always gets 1st in various rankings. But like I said those are the main management people that are in house.
So how it breaks down (even further) is... on a given floor of the store you have a handful of associates maybe 5-6 per shift and one supervisor on one floor. There are two assistant managers that generally float to all of the floors as well as the managers but not as much as the assistant managers. There are four floors, women's, main, men's and kid's.. although kids doesn't have all those people on the floor. They would have one associate manning the floor every few hours. We report to the supervisor and generally anyone.. naturally the higher the authoritative power the more responsive we are to their requests. But we typically take task assignment from our super and they get theirs from their AM or directly from the manager and the managers meet and have their way of getting feedback and direction from the people of corporate Uniqlo.
