Louise and the production team at Bonsai went over her last collection. Including what was ordered from the fashion show in New York in September. They also needed to create a standard size chart for U.S. sizes. It was Louise’s first fashion show in New York. Until now, Louise hadn’t worked with U.S. sizes and needed to figure out comparable U.S. sizes to British sizes. They choose Ralf Lauren’s size chart to use for Louise’s collections.
Coolest part - was I tried on several of her pieces to help
decide what sizes her items were in the collection in September. I have never
worn ‘high fashion’ before. It was gorgeous… and you could really feel the difference
in the fabric - very nice quality. I even tried on one of the dresses Kim
Kardashian is purchasing after some alterations. I was surprised that the only
items made so far from the fall show were the ones that walked the catwalk! I
was also surprised by the quantity ordered of the items, between one to
approximately twelve for each item. Lower than I would expect. Louise explained
that her NY show was about showing people and buyers what her designs were
about. Since the show she has signed a few contracts to design for stores and
departments stores. Like in London, Louise created collections for TopShop and
she’s hoping to do similar projects in New York.
