Christy at The Jane

Last week was a fun and yet again bust week. Instead of working an event I got to attend an event! My mentor called me in a panic while I was in the office and said they forgot picture frames for the event. She said to bring them and then I could stay and chill for the event. I had no idea I was going to attend an event so while I was wearing cute dark olive jeans, a pretty blouse and black booties, I didn't feel appropriately dressed for the event. Regardless, I cabbed it to the Jane Hotel for the event. The event was for Editorialist Magazine and featured supermodel Christy Turlington on the newest cover. I helped set up the picture frames and then was able to walk mingle and drink champagne. My coworkers even let me invite a friend. I called my boyfriend who came right over. We had an amazing time! Christy Turlington came to the event a long with many supermodels, fashion designers and other fashion industry people. I had an amazing time and got to bond with my coworkers. They got to meet my boyfriend and by the end of the night I felt like I grew closer with my coworkers.

I also went to a wonderful restaurant last week with my aunt, roommate and friend, Sam. We went to Gemma at the Bowery Hotel. It had a very cool rustic vibe. We had an amazing meal! For dessert we split the Calzone di Nutella, which was a calzone filled with Nutella and ricotta. It was absolute heaven! One of the best desserts I've had so far in NYC. The next two weeks are going to be very busy because of NYC Fashion Week. I'm so excited that I get to work a lot of events! It's going to be a busy and fun next two weeks!

  4. That so exciting that you got to work your first event, instead of planning it! It probably felt so much more rewarding, I worked in one Fashion show and it was an awesome experience.

  9. One of the things that excites me most about Drexel is the co-op opportunities. Your job sounds extremely fun and beneficial towards your future, and that's all I can hope for myself. I'm living in Astoria this summer so i'll definitely be finding this nutella calzone and tasting it. Good luck and have fun, your experience already sounds amazing!
